Both the Disability Royal Commission and the NDIS Review have identified skills and training as key factors in the delivery of safe, quality disability services.

However, information and investment in the disability sector’s skill requirements is often fragmented and hard to access.

What motivates workers to undertake training? What is the comparative experience between workers with an accredited qualification and those without? Do qualified workers stay in the sector longer? Do they experience more career progression? Or is in-house training better equipped to answer the training needs of our sector?

The NDS Skills Project surveyed 822 disability workers in Australia to answer these and more questions. Join us for a presentation with Painted Dog Research that will shed light on the disability workforce's current qualifications, training intentions, and motivations and barriers to participating in different upskilling opportunities.

We trust the findings from this research will help inform disability sector workforce development efforts and determine the most effective ways to upskill the sector moving forward.

Who Should Attend?

Government, Training Organisations, L and D Professionals, Senior Leaders, and HR Professionals.
