Disability providers urged to speak up on pricing

Secure the future for a better NDIS

9/08/2024

NDS and other peak bodies have joined to call on the federal government and the NDIA to take urgent action on pricing for NDIS supports. We have launched a campaign website, 4abetterNDIS.com.au, to help secure a better and fairer NIDS.

The campaign was ignited by the totally inadequate annual pricing review by the NDIA at the end of June and compelling evidence of an impending market failure in the NDIS.

Our message is simple and stark: Inadequate funding for quality services is putting the safety and wellbeing of people of disability at risk.

It is a message that all providers should get behind.

Anyone concerned about the viability and quality of NDIS services is urged to go to the website to have their say and send a letter to Minister Shorten, Shadow Minister Sukkar, and the Agency. With federal parliament reopening next week, now is the time to send your message.

The mismanagement of NDIS pricing must be denounced and action on pricing must be the concern of every elected official with an interest in safe and quality services for people with disability.

The disability provider community is staunchly behind the campaign, which unites peak bodies in an urgent common cause. National Disability Services, Disability Intermediaries Australia, Allied Health Professionals Australia and CEO Collab have combined their nationwide influence to mobilise the sector and get its voice heard. The website and letter-writing campaign is bolstered by a full social media blitz by the peak bodies. And we need all providers to share the links and get their networks to do the same.

With a recent NDS pulse survey that showed seventy-five per cent of providers considering closing some or all their services, there is no time to act but now.

Go to the 4aBetterNDIS website to learn more, record your experience, write a letter to your government representatives, and find out how you can help save the NDIS market.
