Providers can have their say on the NDIS pricing system

The Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA) would like to hear from providers on the reform of NDIS pricing. Over the next year, the Authority is gathering evidence and opinions to advise government on improvements to the NDIS pricing system.

Their review is looking at the way pricing is determined now, finding improved pricing models and looking for ways to harmonise prices across the care and support sector.

IHACPA is an independent government agency that provides evidence-based price determinations and pricing advice to the Australian Government on health and health-related and aged care services.

One of the recommendations of the NDIS Review last year was to move responsibility for NDIS pricing from the NDIA Board to an independent pricing authority, such as IHACPA. NDS has been a long-time, strong advocate for independent pricing. And although the government has not yet decided to transfer pricing to the Authority, giving the initial job of reviewing NDIS pricing to an expert, independent body is a welcome and important first step.

Providers can have a say in the IHACPA review over the next few months by signing up to attend a webinar or workshop. Dates will be set soon. You can also subscribe to news updates on their work and the progress of the pricing review.
