Patricia Giles Centre holds domestic violence workshops for disability workers

A close up of person being pushed in wheel chair, an argument occurs in the background out of focus

The Patricia Giles Centre for Non-violence is offering free domestic violence workshops for workers in the disability sector. Each three-hour workshop will increase confidence and skills in supporting women and children with disability who experience family and domestic violence. There are two face-to-face workshops and one online.

At the end of the workshop, attendees will have a greater understanding of how family and domestic violence intersects with disability and the ways in which people with disability experience violence. They will have learnt about the barriers people with disability face in telling others about violence.

The workshop also covers how to respond to disclosures of violence and support people towards a safety plan.
