- We call for the Victorian government to get behind a strong NDIS that supports safe and high-quality services, while reducing the burden of the regulatory environment for providers.
- The submission also calls for funding to build a more inclusive community for all Victorians and people with disability.
NDS recently delivered a pre-budget submission to the Minister for Disability, the Hon. Lizzie Blandthorn MP, and the Victorian Government calling for a number of funded initiatives to improve the lives of Victorians with disability.
Our submission calls for a resilient and skilled disability sector through targeted investment in the disability workforce and expansion of NDS’s Zero Tolerance initiative. We also seek recognition of NDS’s key role as a promoter of good practice and in its bridging role between the state government and the disability sector.
In light of the NDIS Review, our submission also calls upon the Victorian Government to support a strong NDIS backed by accessible mainstream services and asks for a simplified regulatory environment for providers.
NDS also advocates for greater funding in housing, employment, transport and justice for people with disability.
