Patricia Giles Centre for Non-violence holds more workshops for disability sector workers
20/06/2024
The Patricia Giles Centre for Non-violence is offering free domestic and family violence workshops for workers in the disability sector. NDS is pleased to have helped develop a pilot program to boost the capacity of the disability sector to support people with disability experiencing violence.
Each three-hour workshop will increase your confidence and skills in supporting women and children with disability who experience family and domestic violence. You can attend face-to-face or online.
At the end of the workshop, you will have a greater understanding of how family and domestic violence intersects with disability and the ways in which people with disability experience violence. You will have learnt about the barriers people with disability face in telling others about violence.
The workshop also covers how to respond to disclosures of violence and support people towards a safety plan.??
