The 2024 federal budget contained a comprehensive suite of employment-related initiatives and reforms, which advance the goals of the Employment White Paper and build on previous budget measures for the reform of the Disability Employment Services Program and Supported Employment.  

The budget included the headline “reforming employment services” measure, intended to support the government’s initial changes to Workforce Australia services. This measure seeks to strengthen the integrity of employment services and better recognise individuals’ circumstances by applying more appropriate and consistent mutual obligations.
