The much-awaited formal government responses to the recommendations from the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability were released today. A joint Australian, state and territory response has also been published.

Collectively the responses mark a significant step towards comprehensive reform. However, it is clear that there is considerable work still to be done to ensure the recommendations are implemented effectively and the voices of people with disability are heard and acted upon.
