National workshop tour gives boards and executives skills in governance and human rights
6/03/2024
NDS invites board and executive teams to join us for Right on Board, a one-day workshop covering governance, human rights, and quality and safeguarding issues, taking in recent recommendations from the DRC and NDIS Review. The dates for your state or territory are listed below.
The workshop will be presented by Alan Hough, a consultant and academic who specialises in governing for quality and safety and holds the honorary position of Adjunct Professor with the Living with Disability Research Centre at LaTrobe University.
Learning outcomes
Completion of this workshop will:
- Ensure that board and executive teams have a shared understanding of the importance of work and occupational health and safety legislation, as well as the responsibilities under the NDIS Act
- Reinforce that everyone — from frontline staff to managers and board members — are accountable for the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality services.
The workshop also covers:
- What KPIs and measures you might use about rights, quality and safeguarding
- How to foster a reporting and learning culture
- How to have positive conversations between boards and executive teams about any issues
The workshop can be part of an induction program for new directors or executives.
