The Disability Royal Commission published its final report on 29 September and last week governments made their response. Like the other states and territories, the Victorian Government accepted most of the recommendations either in full or in principle. However, there were some significant differences.

The most obvious difference between Victoria and the other states and territories was in inclusive education. Victoria accepted in part the recommendations about data collection and best practice (7.9), despite its concerns about student privacy and the quality of data for school-level reporting. The government also accepted in part the recommendations on complaint management (7.10) and improved funding (7.12).
