The Office of the Public Advocate (WA) has released two position statements on the use of Restrictive Practices (Restraint) and their role as the guardian of last resort with authority to make decisions about Restraint.

The first Restrictive Practices position statement provides an overview of restrictive practices to assist people with disability, service providers and the broader disability sector in understanding this issue as it relates to the Guardianship and Administration Act 1990.
