The ACT Government is seeking feedback on proposed amendments to the Senior Practitioner Act 2018. 

The amendment would define and list restrictive practices that would be prohibited under any circumstances and, if used, may constitute an offence and potentially result in penalties. 

During community feedback on the Senior Practitioner Act in early 2022, there was confusion around Section 7 of the Act, which defines what a restrictive practice is. It includes a list of practices that may be used when necessary and in conjunction with a positive behaviour support plan.
