NSW COVID-19 Update: Latest advice for Disability Service Providers

NDS COVID-19 News Update

With the current wave of COVID-19 in NSW at its peak, it is important that residential disability care facilities (RDCF) keep up a high degree of vigilance and take precautions, such as regular screening of staff and visitors for symptoms using rapid antigen tests, mask wearing and hand hygiene.

Disability providers are encouraged to:

  • Ensure residents are up to date with their vaccinations
  • Ensure they have plans  for testing and accessing antiviral medicines (including supporting their residents to complete an antiviral pre-assessment form [PDF]
  • Ensure they have business continuity plans for adequate staffing
  • Support staff to take breaks in well ventilated areas.

NSW Health strongly recommends people who are sick or have tested positive stay home until they no longer have symptoms.

The latest information, advice and resources for Disability Providers are available from NSW Health.
